毎年5月中旬くらいになるとアオリイカが産卵するために沿岸の浅場に集まってきます。
中層でオスとメスが卵の交換をし、オスがエスコートしながらメスが木の枝等に卵をくくっていきます。
この日は４ペアほど産卵床に集まってきておりましたが、オスの方がメスより多かったため、中層ではしばしばメスをめぐってオス同士のケンカもおきていました。アオリイカは産卵の時期を終えると、命が尽きます。
産卵することは命を継いでいく最後の大イベントなのです。場所によって産卵時期は異なり、夏場に最盛期を迎える
場所もあります。今年何度かチャンスをみて撮影していこうと思います。
Every year around mid-May, bigfin reef squid gather in shallow coastal areas to spawn.
In the middle layer, males and females exchange eggs, and while males escort, females squeeze eggs into tree branches.
About 4 pairs were gathered on the spawning bed on this day, but since there were more males than females, there were often fights between males over females in the middle layer. The bigfin reef squid dies after the spawning season.
Spawning is the last big event to carry on. The spawning season varies depending on the location, and the peak season is reached in the summer.
There is also a place. I will take a few chances this year to shoot.
